| How
does the Court determine the amount of child support
a parent is to receive? |

 |
|
| The
Family Code outlines a formula for child support, but several
well respected companies have incorporated the formula
into software for use by the Court. Southern California
courts generally use DissoMaster™ or Xspouse™.
The amount of support determined by the Court is known
as "guideline," and is based on a variety of
factors such as the income of each parent, how much time
each parent has the child with him/her, allowable tax deductions,
mandatory retirement, union dues, mortgage interest deductions,
property tax, etc. |
