| If
I have been married for 10 years or more, can I
expect to receive spousal support for the rest
of my life? |
|
| |
|
 |
|
| Absolutely
not. The duration of spousal support is at the sound discretion
of the Court and is based upon many factors enumerated
in the Family Code. Notwithstanding, however, the Court
is required to reserve jurisdiction over the issue of spousal
support for the benefit of a party when requested if the
parties have been married for 10 years or more, unless
the parties agree otherwise. |
